FAQ: WiDock

I can not detect my WiDock in the setup.

It does not make sense to enter the MAC address manually if WiDock is not automatically detected at this position. Please make sure that the network connection is established and that there is no firewall blocking the communication: WiDock has a system to detect if a network cable is plugged in at the startup. If no network cable is connected it will start up in wireless mode.

What are the different states of the LED's?

On the back there are 2 LED's at the network port:
One green one (link) and one orange (status).

If the green one is on solid and the orange one flashing from time to time this means that the device is in wired operation mode. A network cable was detected and the orange LED flashes from time to time.

If both LED's are blinking at the same time the device is in wireless mode and either configured to operate in ad-hoc or it did not detect your wireless network.
In ad-hoc mode you should detect a network named "GROUP".
If you are sure that the mode is infrastructure you should check the wireless settings in this state of the LED's: SSID and encryption type or encryption key, MAC filtering on the AP might cause problems.

If only the status LED is on solid and the link LED is flashing from time to time the unit is successfully configured to operate in wireless mode infrastructure, so with a wireless access point.

I have setup my WiDock, but I can not sync with Mac OS.

Please make sure that you have the latest version of SX-VL from our website.
If you have updated your Mac OS system in the last time this might cause a problem because very often the USB drivers get updated, especialy for the intel based Mac OS systems. This requires also the latest version of SX-VL. Please download here: Klick
