The ND-1-EVK is an evaluation kit for network display adaptor (NetDA) that allows a standard display monitor to remotely show the desktop image from a client PC on a wired or wireless network. One client PC can be connected with up to six separate NetDA devices to show either the same or a diffrent desktop image. The ND-1-EVK also enables any USB device such as a mouse or a keyboard to be remotely available for use from the PC, providing a highly interactive and real-time virtual desktop experience. Silex can deliver the technology or final product individually customised to the need of the manufacturer. Technical specifications such as the maximum resolution, quantity of USB interfaces, or wireless standards (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n) can easily be customized.

A powerful additional feature is the ability to network various other USB devices such as mice, keyboards or storage devices. This allows connected USB devices to be available for use from any PC on the network as if they were directly attached to that PC. The EVK supports two Hi-Speed USB ports up to 480 Mbit/s. The USB device networking capability makes it most effective when used in wireless enviroments. For example, by connecting a monitor, standard USB mouse and keyboard to the evaluation kit that is communicating wirelessly to a PC running into another room, a lot of unique solutions are feasible.

With these integrated features, the ND-1-EVK enables flexible usage scenarios for a minimal investment. The unlimited applications include standard offices, factories, retail stores, hospitals, restaurants, stations and convention centers, or anywhere digital information is being displayed today. When used with a touch screen display, the NetDA provides an interactive usage scenario that can open a wide range of new applications.
